WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR EXTERIOR PAINTING PROJECT

At Silva Painting Company, we want our customers to have all the information they need before their exterior painting project begins. When painting the exterior of a home or business, it is imperative to follow explicit steps for the best results that will last for years. By sharing these steps, you will know what to expect during the exterior painting process.

Properly prepping the exterior of the building is just as important as the painting process. Our painting team will make sure your building is ready for its new paint. Since different buildings have varying exteriors, the prep and painting process may be slightly different for each project. Here is an outline of what to expect during your exterior painting job.

We allow our customers to base their ESTIMATE cost on Sherwin Williams brand paints and stains. There are many to choose from and we discuss the options with you so ensure your total satisfaction for years to come. 

Preparation

OUR PAINTERS WILL • Cover flooring with plastic, paper or drop cloths • Cover furniture with plastic or drop cloths • Remove trash & empty paint containers when done • Mark leftover paint cans & leave them for customer • Unless specified on quote, we will NOT wash windows upon completion of project • Unless specified on quote, we will NOT stain underside of decks

Finish for Stain

We use Sherwin Williams WoodScapes® Exterior House Stain that is a breakthrough stain technology that offers a rich, beautiful appearance and top quality performance. This self-priming formula enhances the appearance and texture of your home and provides great coverage, exceptional protection and resistance to peeling.

Finish for Paint

We use Sherwin Wiliams Duration Premium Exterior Coating is formulated with PermaLast® technology and infused with advanced acrylic co-polymers for long-lasting performance. Duration is self-priming and provides a mildew-resistance coating. It requires just one coat for repaints and two coats for new work so exterior jobs get done fast.
